Visafone is a wholly owned Nigerian telecommunications company incorporated in June 20, 2007, following the acquisition of CDMA operators, Cellcom and Independent Telephone Network (ITN), followed by Bourdex Telecom, a network with operations in 10 states in South-eastern Nigeria.

Visafone received its Unified Access Service Licence as a telecom operator from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on August 1, 2007. Visafone also obtained three carrier licences in the 800 MHz spectrum. The company commenced operations on the 22nd of February, 2008, with coverage in 100 cities and towns in 12 states, eventually growing to cover over 170 cities and towns in 24 states.

Visafone was acquired by MTN Nigeria in January 2016.
